Our TeamThe people behind Waldo
Co-founder, software developer
He is in charge with software development at Waldo. Focusing on server side development, he is coding the infrastructure that allows Waldo to talk to your mobile phone.
He graduated Computer Science at Politehnica University of Bucharest and he is currently finishing his Masters in Parallel and Distributed Systems at the same university.
He knows that big cities like Bucharest need healthier transportation. That is why he uses his bike to get around as often as he can. He believes that by improving bike security a larger number of people would join in urban cycling.
Co-founder, mechanical engineer
He is in charge with Waldo’s mechanical design, making sure the device is firmly placed on the bike and almost impossible to take off.
Co-founder, business developer
He is focused on the business development of Waldo, as well as coding the mobile app on Android.
He graduated with a major in Economics, but has turned to the dark side and now enjoys writing code.
As a passionate cyclists, he truly believes bikes are the best way to get around in the city. The fact that he cannot leave his bike unattended without worrying is what motivates him to help build Waldo.
Research and prototyping adviser
Having studied Applied Sciences at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest and now studying Nanoscience at the University of Copenhagen, Ana is in charge with researching and testing materials, both in terms of durability and electromagnetic permeability. She is also advising us with mounting and locking mechanisms.
She learned how to ride a bike a couple of years ago when first coming to Copenhagen and uses it as the main mean of transportation since.
What we do
We are building an alarm system that will take care of your bike. Waldo will always be on the lookout and will notify you whenever your baby is in danger. Moreover, thanks to Waldo, you’ll always know where she is.
How we do it
By combining the latest technologies available, we strive to offer the highest level of safety for your bike. Through hardware design wizardy, pure software and mobile development and sheer mechanical engineering, we are on the way to offering your bike the best protection there is.
Why we do it
Apart from being tech geeks, we are cyclists. And we understand how painful it is to have your bike stolen. That bike that you’ve been riding on for the last four years. No money in the world can replace such a loss. That’s why we’re building Waldo.
