Ever since Narcis was a little kid, the bicycle has been a big part of his life. It all started in May 1996, when he received his first bike, a Pegas. It quickly became his best companion in all his childhood adventures. He explored the world, bit by bit, from the top of his saddle.
Years went by, and his love for cycling grew. Although he had his bike stolen in 2004, he continued to pedal. After that incident, he received a new bike (lucky guy), which he nicknamed “The Beast”, because its green frame reminded him of The Hulk. The Beast stayed with him for eight years, during which they’ve been through a lot together.
2012 was the turning point, when he got his current bike, The Tornado. It’s a MTB from Merida, and he nicknamed it this way due to its white, sleek frame.
The Tornado has been his companion in long rides in the city, a few MTB competitions and, most recently, in trips around Romania. Narcis discovered his love for cycletourism after a two-day bike ride from Bucharest to Constanța (around 310 km). Since then, he has made two “wild” escapades: a three week tour of SW Romania, and a smaller, five day tour of Dobrogea, (you can read about that here and here). Both tours were made with his girlfriend, Ileana.
Narcis believes that biking is the best way to get around in the city. Apart from saving time and money, it’s also the sheer pleasure that comes with riding a bike. He couldn’t imagine the world without it.
