The road from Murighiol to Enisala was simply delightful. A gorgeous weather, mild hills, very few cars and a good pace made it the most enjoyable part of our tour. We took a small detour to avoid the main European road. Although the first ten kilometres were very bumpy, as the road was covered with gravel, not asphalt, it was worth it. The stunning scenery made us forget about the shabby road.

Around noon we reached Enisala and checked-in at a lovely guest house with a beautiful view of Lake Babadag (in Turkish, Babadag means the mountain of the father). After a quick shower, we went to visit the Enisala Medieval Fortress. Built in the 14th century, it is the only medieval citadel left in Dobrogea. It has a stunning view of Lake Razim. If you’re ever in that area, this is something you don’t want to miss.

The next day we left very early for Corbu, a small village at the seaside. Although the weather was sunny when we left, it kept getting worse along the way. When we arrived, a menacing wind was blowing, and the sun was blocked out by thick clouds.

We set up our tent just in time before the rain started. Although we were looking forward to a couple of sunny days at the seaside, the weather kind of spoiled our plans. So the next day we decided to set out for Constanța, our last destination.

Luckily, the weather started to improve. When we reached Constanța, the sun was shining and the weather was sweet. After leaving our bags at my aunt’s, we went for a quick dip in the sea.

After we spent most of the next day on the beach, we left for Bucharest at dawn, but this time by train.

Although it lasted only six day, it was a truly unforgettable experience and one that I am looking forward to repeat.
