Adrian got his first bike when he was 12. It was a cheap Chinese “mountain bike”. He recalls that every day after school he went for hours of bike rides within his neighbourhood. Occasionally he would go on some 7-12 km rides either to go fishing or a swim. In his small home city of Tulcea it was the fastest and the most enjoyable way to get around.
He would often spend entire Saturdays fixing or tweaking his bike. Did he mention that it was a Chinese brand? Yes, it broke quite often and needed a lot of maintenance. But Adrian really enjoyed fixing his bike and meantime he learned a lot of how everything works. This sparked his interest in curiosity in mechanics and now Adrian is a licensed mechanical engineer.
In the spring of 2013 he got a new bike – a B’Twin Rockrider 5.0. He used it to ride in Bucharest, where he lives now. In the same year, in fall, his bike was stolen from the 6th floor of the apartment building where he lives. Now he rides a B’Twin Rockrider 5.1 to get around in the city, but also in parks or in the mountains. Adrian really enjoys mountain biking and he has been on a few adventures in the mountains of Romania. He prefers going off-road, in the middle of nowhere.
